Meet Dr. Tammy Tran of Fountain Valley
Dr. Tran is an Orange County native. She achieved a Bachelor in Biology at University of California in Irvine and her Doctorate at New York University College of Dentistry, one of the nation’s top dental schools.
During her studies at NYU, Dr. Tran was selected for a one-year honor program in pediatric dentistry and a two-year program that treated medically compromised and mentally challenged patients. Not only did she develop her dental skills and knowledge, but was also able to obtain valuable behavior management skills while in the honors program.
At NYU, Dr. Tran also participated with Miracle Corners of the World and NYUCD/Henry Schein Cares Global Outreach Program in providing free dental services to populations facing barriers to oral health care. This included populations within the 5 boroughs of New York, as well as Tanzania, Africa, and the Dominican Republic. Upon graduating, Dr. Tran successfully completed her residency with a focus in oral surgery at St. Luke’s-Roosevelt hospital in New York. Dr. Tran is a member of the American, California, and Orange County Dental Associations, as well as the American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine.
In her free time, Dr. Tran loves being outdoors hiking or snowboarding. She enjoys traveling, salsa dancing, and photography.

Dr. Tran believes that comprehensive care is the best approach to dentistry. Her goal is to provide the highest standard of service in a warm and comfortable setting. This includes getting to know her patients on a personal basis, understanding any fears or concerns, using proven technology in regards to the current state of dentistry, and educating patients on achieving and maintaining total oral health.
During your first visit you will meet Dr. Tran and her dedicated team and they will address any issues or concerns regarding your teeth and your smile. Our hygienist will evaluate and provide periodontal care as well as customized instructions on the best home care regimen for you. Any necessary x-rays will be taken along with exams of your teeth, gums, periodontal health and a screening for oral cancer. All findings will be discussed and we will schedule your follow-up dental and hygiene visits.
We realize that dental anxiety is a common issue in dentistry and aim to do whatever possible to relieve any apprehension when visiting our office. The angst we experience in a dental setting is rooted in many different factors including: an anticipation of pain, gagging, and loud noises. For this reason our goal is to understand your fears and provide an atmosphere where patient comfort is of top priority, from the moment you set foot in our practice to the moment you step out.
Dr. Tran and her team strive to stay on the cutting edge of dentistry. New technology is constantly changing the way diseases are diagnosed, routine procedures are performed, and illnesses are prevented. Although they may seem unfamiliar at first, new and improved dental technologies offer plenty of real benefits for patients. We utilize the latest in digital x-ray technology which reduces radiation exposure by approximately 70-90%. Our digital x-ray sensors are ergonomically designed to lessen any discomfort associated with dental X-rays. We also use the highest quality materials available for dental restorations coupled with the latest techniques to ensure our standard of care is met.
We believe that patient education and preventive care is the basis for great oral health care. Dr. Tran and her staff take great care to educate patients on treatment options and alternatives as well as proper oral hygiene and prevention. We believe that with this knowledge, patients can have the power to make adequate and informed decisions.
