A lot of people are anxious about going to the dentist. It doesn’t need to be that way. Dr. Tammy Tran wants to be your Fountain Valley gentle dentist.
What Makes Dr. Tran a Gentle Dentist?
There is just something about her chairside manner that puts patients at ease. It seems to be part of her personality. When you ask patients why they like coming to see her, her gentleness is usually mentioned. “She makes you feel comfortable and she’s so gentle.” One patient mentioned that she has little fingers. Well, that helps, too, I guess.
Part of it is just that she wants so much for you to be comfortable. She doesn’t push you into treatment, waits until you are comfortable, and is sensitive to your pain and anxiety. If there is anything bothering you about what she is doing, she’ll stop and take care of it.
Children particularly like her. While she was in dental school, she did an extra one-year residency treating children. She has also put extra attention into treating medically compromised and handicapped patients.
Oral Conscious Sedation
For especially anxious patients, Dr. Tran does have oral conscious sedation available. But frankly, she rarely needs that. Her gentle technique and chairside manner generally do the trick. However, she understands that some patients have a deep-rooted fear of dental care. If that’s you, you won’t be judged and the medication is available.
Oral sedation involves taking a pill about an hour before your appointment. It will make you relaxed, sleepy, and indifferent to the dental procedures. In fact, many people don’t even remember the procedures at all. You will need someone to drive you to and from the appointment because the medication takes a while to wear off.
