I have a great deal of erosion on the inside (backside) of my teeth. Could I use dental bonding on them to strengthen the enamel?
Nancy G.- Orem, Utah
Nancy,
No, dental bonding will not strengthen the enamel. It certainly won't stand up to acid erosion. Generally, erosion on the inside of your teeth is due to bulimia or other causes of excessive vomiting. If that is the case, they won't protect you at all.
The best protection you can get is porcelain crowns Orange County. However, there is always a small strip that the acid can get through. Many cosmetic dentists are trained in treating bulimia.
