I've had root canal before. Now I have an infection in a wisdom tooth even though the cavity is filled. I don't want tooth removed, but my dentist recommends it. I told him I don't want lose tooth. He says I not understand the risks. Do you think so too?

Adriano,
I do agree with your dentist. Here's why.
Root canals treatments are difficult even on regular teeth and there is never a guarantee they will work completely. With wisdom teeth the danger of root canal failure is even higher. The roots of wisdom teeth are very curved and getting complete access to them is difficult. Wisdom teeth aren't very useful, so I wouldn't take the risk.
The only exception to this is if you are missing an adjacent tooth and the wisdom tooth is needed as an anchor for a replacement tooth..
