I hope you can tell me if my dentist is being honest. I have a five unit bridge. There was a problem with ONE of the crowns and now he’s saying the ENTIRE unit must be replaced. Is that true?

Unfortunately, your dentist is right. When you have a bridge unit, when one part of the unit is damaged, the entire thing must be replaced.
Though it is sometimes a hard decision between a bridge and dental implants, often when it comes to a multiple unit bridge, dental implants are a much better idea.
This would be the time to decide if you want to replace your bridge or switch to implants. You’re welcome to read my dental implants vs. bridge webpage, if it will help you decide.
