I have always had bad experiences with dentists. The appointments are pure torture. I always dread going. My daughter has quite a few teeth now and I think it is time to take her in to the dentist. The problem is I want her to have a better experience with dentists than I do. Is there something I can do like numb out her gums ahead of time?

I think both you and your daughter will need a new dentist. You shouldn’t have to be terrified of going to your dentist. If you have good oral hygiene, your appointments shouldn’t be painful.
There are gentle dentists out there, who can clean your teeth without cause pain or trauma. Dr. Tran is one of them. In face, even though she has sedation options available, such as nitrous oxide, her patients don’t seem to need it.
If I were in your place, I’d look for a gentle dentist (some advertise as such) who also treats children. Then you and your daughter can both have positive dental experiences.
