I’ve been going to the same dentist since I was a child. He seemed fine as a kid….well mostly funny. But, as I’ve gotten older he just seems insensitive. He has no patience when I ask questions or when I hesitate about a procedure. I’m thinking of switching dentists, but how do I find a dentist who is more patient?

What you want is to find a gentle dentist. You’ll want a dentist who listens to you and has a good chairside manner. That will include total expanations of all procedures to you until you are comfortable with your understanding.
If there is a procedure you don’t want to move forward on, then you should not feel pressured. I understand this is a tall order, but you have a right to expect this kind of care.
There’s no real way to be certain about how a dentist will behave until you’ve had some experienc with them, but at least you know that you have a right to the kind of care you’re lookin gfor.
