Is it OK for a dentist to place a dental bridge immediately after an extraction without taking the time to put pressure in order to leave time for a clot to form?
To be honest, it really depends on the situation. There are other ways to get bleeding to stop without pressure. Your dentist could use and astringent, a gelfoam, or even electrocautery. Sometimes, if there is not much bleeding, the bridge itself can put enough pressure.
There is a benefit to getting the dental bridge on right away. Teeth can move when there is nothing available to stop them. If they move it can throw off your bite. Putting the bridge there right away will prevent the teeth from moving.
